So long but not farewell!

When your child is in therapy everyday of the week for almost a year you get to know the therapists on the team really well.  It's hard not to wonder sometimes if they know more about your daily life then your friends.  It also makes it hard when one of them decides to leave.  I get very attached and I don't like change.  A few weeks ago Max's OT Katie asked me to come back early to his session.  She broke the news that she was leaving the clinic to go work at a birth to three center.  Yes I totally cried.  The kicker is it is a center I looked at as a possible place for Max last year.  It's not far from our house. I really really am so happy for Katie(who I hope is reading this).  She is an amazing OT and so great with the kids.  She has been working with Max for almost a year and is just as much attached to Jakob as she is Max.  She has  an incredibly happy spirit when working with the kids and has so much patience.  She even copes with crazy Jakie wreaking havoc on the end of the session with all his climbing.  She's the one who nicknamed him Dennis the Mennis.  Katie has helped Max through so much and we are going to miss seeing her twice a week so very much.  Friday was her last day and I tried to get some pictures.  I have to be very sneaky.  I also forgot my camera so these are from my phone.  Katie and I exchanged private emails and she wants to stay a part of the our lives.  YAY!  Max loves her so much and does things for her he won't do for me at all yet.  Like touch gooey things.  :)  So for now we say so long Katie and good luck at your new job.  As soon as you are ready send us an email and you are invited to dinner.
